Seat rail swap - anyone done it?

Sooo... I have a set of 98 GT seats and a set of 06 USDM STi seats...

This thread on RS25.com got me thinking about swapping the rails/brackets over to lower the seats as the STi seats do sit a bit higher, about 2".

Anyone else tried/attempted the bracket swap from the later seats to earlier? Or JDM to USDM?

when I swapped in some bugeye wrx seats I tried and it looked like way more work than I felt like doing. both drivers seats are vertically adjustable which makes it difficult and the plastic covers around the base of the seats doesnt eve come close to matching and is one more obstacle. im 6'8" and Ive had to adjust to it but with the gangsta lean its doable even with a helmet on.

Dont worry about swapping, there is plenty of room... lower the STI seat all the way down and the head rest wont even hit the roof. I am not nearly as tall as above, but I have my seat pretty much vertical during spirited driving, and there is plenty of room even with a helmet.
