so i recently looked under my car and noticed that the whole rear subframe of my car is all rawting out and soon i wont be able to get my rear diff out without cutting the hunks of metal that is supose to be a bolt. so does any one know if its posible to buy a subframe new or would i have to go to a junk yard and pull one out, and even then im not garuanted rust. anyone got any ideas of connctions with these things?

yes you can buy them new from subaru for ~$325. P/N 20151AC002. you might be able to get one from a junkyard but idk the cost

nicee thanks. i wanna spray it with rubberized undercoating so it lasts alittle longer.
are there any plces that sell aftermarket , like maybe something that wont rust.

Actually, you ARE guaranteed rust assuming you live somewhere other than... arizona... It's how much rust that's not a guarantee :wink:

#1 junkyards leave that kind of part in the car, and pull if if anybody else wants it, otherwise it's scrap metal when they scrap the car. So that means they want a deposit etc... if it's a decent junkyard just tell them when pulling it to take a look at it, if it has unreasonable amount of rust then don't bother pulling it. Also look for one from a 99 because if you tell them that you're looking for a 99 subframe for all you know they could take it from a 95 with 250k on it. www.car-part.com (http://www.car-part.com) should help a lot.

#2 no, nobody makes an aftermarket subframe that doesn't rust. the cost of having someone fab one out of aluminum or SS would be so rediculous you don't even want to know. Find a solid used one, and if you still have money burning a hole in your pocket, pay somebody to sandblast it before it goes in your car, then buy some POR15 and paint it. If you don't have money burning a hole in your pocket, then wash the underside of your car in the winter, now that you have a better subframe.
