Does anyone know of a midpipe, 2.25"-2.5" (preferable 2.5") that has a resenator? I dont really wana cut out a chunk of a new $200 midpipe to weld in a resenator...or is that what you have 2 do?

or should i have an exhaust shop do it/fabricate a midpipe with a resenator?

I'm kinda going for that turbo smooth sound without a turbo so i want a big resenator.

would 2 resenators be posable?

and um (noob) what really is a resenator just an expanded section of the pipe or is there stuf in there?

stromung from boxer4racing.com did make resonated midpipes, but call them to make sure they still do. otherwise they just have regular ones. what do u mean by "turbo smoothness?" i have the borla header, random tech cat, and the stromung single tip catback with 2.25" piping. it sounds sick. there is also the option i know of from xcceleration.com. they have an elbow that reduces the volume/loudness of the exhaust a decent amount. i just have the exhaust as is and i love it.

Yes. But you should talk seriously with your fabricator to work out your best solution, especially if you don't know what a resonator does.

"Sick" is relative - sound is relative. What you like and what someone else is going for depends entirely on their ears.

turbo smoothness = like a STi exhaust sound or close to it from a NA low deep sounding and not raspy

I know the concept of a resonator just not how it works on an exhaust. It basically just deflects the sound around before it comes out the pipe so its not as loud harsh but how does it do that.

anyone know anything about resonators and exhaust noise?

a turbo doesn't instantly mean no rasp. Even an STi has a resonator.

I have no resonator. I have slight rasp. My car can also be described as "mean" sounding by some people.

:shrugs:

Do a search for resonator and you'll find your answer. I'm not going to rehash what I and a multitude of people have been posting for quite some time now about exhaust and sound.
