SO has anyone actually found a throttle body spacer and installed it and if so did they notice any performance or fuel economy difference?

Subaru_terrence was the test mule for Group A.

A TB spacer is pretty much a TB spacer. Most people are reporting 2-4hp on the dyno and a 4 or better mpg increase.

4 mpg increase?!? I had dismissed the spacers as just a kind of gimmik, but man, if that's an accurate figure, I'm ordering a set ASAP.

That's what most people are reporting that I've seen.

I sell them and I'm about to install one on my car Monday.

That'd be nice. I plan on ordering one from Reason when my buddy pays me the money he owes me.

yea i would go with group a's they seem to know there stuff especially over a universal one because group a's is supposedly the largest it can be (most effective) without other clearance/performance issues

That's probably the power of the placebo affect there. The actual gains of a TBS on a Subaru has always been debated...at the very worse its not going to cause your engine to explode

Let us know how they turn out; especially if you get any noticeable increase in mileage

I'm pretty sure someone on RS25 or NASIOC did a dyno and it showed that with the stock intake maybe? 2-4hp isn't noticeable in the seat, but still. It's something.

Actually, the dyno showed no increase. 2-4whp is well within the margin of error of most dynos anyway...search for Pat Olsen's dyno charts on NASIOC.

:shrugs: I'm not saying I'm for or against people buying these, but it may not be on the top of people's lists when they're spending on a budget...

Well I got mine installed. I have better throttle response. It feels like I have the lost tq back from when I removed my axleback, or maybe it's wishful thinking. As for MPG's I don't keep track of them so I have no opinion on that.

any idle problems/CELs with these? what about in conjunction with IM spacers?

i have thought about this but just can't justify it yet, though better MPG would be nice these days...

No idle problem, no CEL and I can't see why there would be a problem with IM spacers.

They both add intake plenum after the MAF, which seems ideal but just wanted to make sure there weren't any random things going on with the ECU when it gets all that extra air. I guess my only problem would be fitting the intake piping back to the airbox when it's pushed further towards the firewall. I think i'm gonna save this one till i feel like porting my throttle body and IM.

It's only one inch.

yeah but I already had to get a longer coupler from the TB to the intake to make it fit w/my system right now. I'm sure I could figure it out I just don't have the money right now I gotta finish my suspension up!
