Seats are probably from a GC8

https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2008/10/DSC_0404-2.jpg

Here's mine. A work in progress. Got a JDM hood and bumper... GC-8 seats.. Cusco strut bar, Bilstein dampers, WRX 07 magwheels, Subaru steering wheel by Nardi. Still to install JDM 3rd brake light. Trying to get a rear spoiler and eventually, a turbo engine!

Am holding off the paint job in hopes that I can swing the engine swap.

Jones

Bro,

We now have Motor Image in the Philippines. They are the Subaru distributors in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, etc. and now the Philippines. Fr small parts, you can order from them at reasonable cost. Of course, they will proabaly have Asian market parts. I also know an importer of JDM Subaru parts. They sometimes bring in entire STI engines. I'd be glad to bring you there when you are in Manila.

I may take you up on that; I'm going to be back there this December

We've sold the one above and started another BG project. From NA to turbo...

The "new" project:

Thanks guys. It's been a 6 month wait for the engine transplant and the paint. I got it for a few days last week to diagnose any problems and then back again to the shop. Most issues were electrical perhaps due to the it being in shop for 6 months. The transplant included the harness, drive train, and the ECU so maybe that's also the reason for the electrical issues.

Sorry I don't know how to do multiple quotes, but yes there is a growing Subaru following here in the Philippines ever since they had a dedicated dealer Motor Image (MI) about 3-4 yrs ago. Before MI, Subarus were sold through the GM and KIA/BMW dealership and so were not supported well. In addition to MI, used Grey market Subarus are trickling in from Japan along with Skylines, Integras, etc. They are converted of course as we are not allowed RHD cars here. There are a lot of Forester Turbos for sale here and many GC8s. For a Subaru fan, it's kinda sad to be so near Japan and not be able to use their cars as is. I'm not really sure how to tell how good a conversion is although cosmetically everything seems ok except for the shift button on A/T cars which I often see on the right side!

The dealership here sells STis, WRXs, 2.0R Imprezas and Legacy sedans/wagons, Foresters (N/A and Turbo) Outbacks, and Tribecas. Many here are waiting for a Legacy turbo (GT? GTB?) but I've not seen them offered to date. They do have a Group N Impreza for sale complete with roll cage, etc.

A new pic.

Fun run from Manila to Subic Bay... about 130 miles each way. We were the only Legacy. Most were Imprezas and a few Foresters.... and an M3!

Nice!!

Glad to see that you stuck with it. I like the Forester XT.

Where'd you get the plate garnish??? Is that OEM/JDM? +1 for something I (me) haven't seen.

SPOTLESS! Great job!
I also have NOT seen that plate garnish thinger before..

Bisikleta62

Thank you guys.

The garnish came with the rear hatch which I bought because I wanted a roof spoiler! The supplier didn't want to part with just the roof spoiler so I bought the whole thing. The hatch also came with garnish and a grab bar! I got rid of the grab bar though. The garnish is probably JDM.

I still have electrical issues (no central locking) with the engine swap that needs to be solved.

Also, we only have up 97 octane here and engine supplier says JDM engines are tuned for 100 so a remap is needed. All in due time.

or you can toss a bottle of octane booster everytime u fill up... Nah, just get the re-tune.

Just updating... new grille. It's flat black though. Not sure if previous owner blacked it out.

Also hoping to get a HKS downpipe... it's over $300!
