My car is about 3 months old with 1700 miles. I already have appointment setup next tuesday. But i wanted to share and gain some insight before i go upto the dealers. You know how dirty it can be dealing with dealer maintenance.

Since yesterday, i noticed my All wheel drive OFF sign was not seen on dashboard, when i noticed its button the All wheel drive was turned on. I assumed it was me accidentally left it on. So i turned it off.

When i started my car back after few hours, same thing again. Its been like that past 24 hours.

Anyone knows whats going on here???

If so, please shed some light.

might want to shed some light on what kind of vehicle you are talking about...

Firstly - DO NOT POST YOUR QUESTION MULTIPLE TIMES. It just serves to confuse people and prevents collection of correct information in one place.

Second - reference your vehicle year and model in the title of your post if possible, if not in your forum signature. Preferably as part of your post as sometimes the vehicle you own changes over time.

Third - All Subaru's have AWD as standard from 1995 onward. Automatics have a automatic torque-biasing system that moves torque from 90/10 to 50/50 under traction slip conditions.

So to the point of your original question - did you read your owners manual to determine the correct function of the button/function you turned off?

BTW - why the heck would you buy a new car, with a warranty, if you are afraid of the dealer? You'll be seeing them at least the next 30,000miles.

Are you sure you didn't switch off traction control?

I'm pretty certain BL/BPs are the first models to get TCS.

he has to be talking about the VDC button? does the light look like a car driving on two lines?

All Subarus have full time AWD, so it's not that it's off. I'm with 1-3-2-4. Sounds like VDC.

All current US MARKET Subarus are full time AWD. It would help to know where the OP is located, as well.

I would assume you are talking about he VDC button as well, as 2009 this is standard. VDC is NOT your all wheel drive; and if you are under that impression then your salesperson failed you.

VDC is always on, untill you turn it off ( hitting the button, and seeing the icon pop on the dash,) your AWD is always on aswell. beings as Subaru is known for its AWD being full time.
