I've read a lot about this and i'm curious if any of you have done this. It seems like a logical thing to do - cooler TB= cooler intake charge. Any big drawbacks other than possibly freezing the throttle when it's really cold. I rarely see sub-freezing temps. Seems like the results are varied, let me know if any of you have experience with the TB coolant bypass.

No problems, I have it done to this Legacy, my Accord and my Neon. We also did my friends Maxima. Never had a problem in the winter time.

What exactly is this anyway?

Exactly what it sounds like. Theres a coolant line that passes through your throttle body. Remove both hoses and replace them with one "jumper" hose that connects to the two points on the block.

What would the benefit of this be?

Theoretically? Cooler intake air, which would be denser, and allow more HP.

Realistically? Probably nothing at all, or at most a gain so small you wouldn't notice it on the "seat of the pants" gauge.

That's what I figure, but it's free and any little "power" helps.

The hardest part is removing the hose because it will stick. And small hands FTW on this mod.

Took me more time doing this then Shane helping getting the exhaust on.

This only hard part of this mod is slipping on the hose to the block inlet that is vertical. my fingers were dead from pushing down on such a little area.

I switched two axlebacks, had a full bear and put the ramps and tools away before he was done lol. But in all seriousness it can be a pain in the ass.
