I have a proble my 95 Bk has the abs that stays on from time to time. It was doing it today and drained my battery and i had to get a jump. I remember heraing something about the relay causing this so i pulled it and it still kept on workin. I persume it working cause it sounds like a electrical motor is on. anyone have any ideas?
Thanks.
Sounds like you have a short after the relay. You might have to get the FSM's schemas to fully diagnose. It wouldn't hurt to look around the ABS module in the front passenger side though.

Did you pull the fuse for the ABS in the engine bay and under the dash?

Nope didnt do that. I just was checking around the ABS unit and saw it was running and decited to pull the relay hopefully shutting if off and it didnt.
I did unplug the harness and then it stopped. now i have a abs light that is on but thats all. This happened last year as well about the same time and quit and now is happening again.

Sounds like maybe you have a ABS sensor that's faulty...either that or an ABS unit that's bad?
Might be temperature related, does it occur if the car is warmed up?

Yank the relay on the ABS unit and get another from a junk yard (they are expensive buggers). This is actually a not too uncommon problem.

so even though i pull the relay then its still the cause? I mean i know that some relays are normally closed but didnt know that it would still work even if its removed.

I would completly disconnect the pump electircally and see if there are any internal shorts in the unit. If it is still running once the relay is pulled, thats the only thing i can think of.
