1992 Loyale AWD tranny compatibility?

any idea what auto tranny will bolt up to this?

I believe only transmissions from that body style. (EA series engines) I think the Legacy/Impreza/Forester (EJ series engines) all use a different bolt pattern on the bell housing.

I think someone makes an adapter plate to be able to use a newer transmission with the older engine (or vice-versa) but I can't remember who it is........

EDIT: Found it. Allied Armament (http://alliedarmament.homestead.com/EAEJ.html) has the adapter.

SJRLift makes a flywheel adapter plate for the conversion. You can actually make your own as well. It's all a matter of how much you want to spend and how much work you want to do.

the adapter works both ways. but i think a direct replacement would have to be a loyale tranny or maybe a other EA type tranny would work idk
