Pretty obvious to see where I'm going with this one. I've seen someone here with WRX seats front & back in a sedan. However, I'm not so sure if the bottom portion of the WRX wagon seats fold down as well as the seat backs. We put a lot of gear in our wagon like bikes so we'll need the hatch area to be as flat as possible all the way down.
When I had the '06 Impreza wagon it didn't look like they did . The hatch looked flat when you just fold the seatback down and the bottoms didn't seem like they wanted to move.

last i heard it could be done, and has been but it took much fabrication of hinging. thought about reapholstering them like a WRX? or better yet STi?

direct bolt in: no they won't. I found front and rear seats from 02 wrx wagon on craigslist for $25. owner switched to leather. I tried to put the rears in but the bottoms are different. :smt011 the back latches match up but the middle hinge doesn't work. maybe with mixture of wrx hinges and the legacy hinges, and some fabing of the bottom cushion. oh and I tried this in a 96 legacy wagon L

So are you saying that they can fit, but won't be able to fold down?

they should able to fold down, but not as flat as the stock ones. the bottom will not pull out to allow the back to sit flat. i say just go ahead n get the complete back seat get the hinges too, and see what happens. good luck. post pics if u get it to work, maybe a write up.

Here's a thread on the matter; it appears that WRX wagon rear seats will fit a Legacy wagon, but a bit of modification is necessary to make them fit.
The WRX seats won't be able to be folded completely flat like the legacy's seats can be, since the WRX bottom part doesn't have hinges to allow it to tip up.

this thread is old, but i figured ill still share some info for everyone new to site. I have a 97 2.5GT Wagon. No, the WRX rear seats will not bolt in. The backs have hinges on both sides that slide into the bracket that allows the seat to fold down without falling out. The bottom lines up with the front 2 slots but doesnt fit the bracket connecting it to the rears.
What i did:
If you compare the WRX wagon seats with the Legacy Seats, you will notice they are exactly the same size, shape. So, what i did was removed the fabric from the WRX seats and the legacy seats and simply replaced the WRX cloth onto the legacy cloth. This gives my car the look of the WRX in the back, without all the hassle of doing the welding of the bracket and blah blah blah. The only thing neccessary after this is drilling 2 holes and buy 2 10 dollar clips for the middle, smaller head rest. Problem solved. Do the same thing for the bench and you got yourself WRX interior in the rears. The front of course bolt right up no problem, just remember to swap the buckle for the seat belts.

Very interesting! How good is the fitment of the fabric? Any folds or goofy-looking areas?\
Some pictures would be great too!

fits awesome, i have pics in my members rides thread. Only thing is there are 2 tiny holes in both loer corners where the wrx seats have the nubs for the brackets, but not visable unless u know its there

also, i hear lots of people complain about wrx fronts beeing lower then their stock seats. I had the same issue. Fixed the problem with 2 washers under eash bolt. Doesnt hurt the sturdiness of the seat but makes it a little higher. I wouldnt go more then 3 washers tho because the bolt will only be grabbing by 5 threads, and u want at leas 6-8 threads to be safe

if you dont go longer bolts, and you are putting washers under the stock bolts you are wrong. the bolts that hold seats to the car are made to hold you in. when you change the thread grab you are taking the saftey of you seats to almost none. to be safer try and find longer bolts that use washers this way you have more thread grab.

For sure. I have a really long torso so even on the low setting on my GT seats It is just a little too high
