So i was posting earlier
http://www.sl-i.net/FORUM/viewtopic.php?t=11309
how my 97 GT pooched on me and i was looking at a 2000 Impreza Outback sport. Well i talked the guy down to $6000 cert. with new rear struts and a brake job so i bought it. I wish i could have another legacy but i'm glad im staying in the subaru family. So far its a nice little car i've done a tune-up... it was really easy to work on.
SO NOW im debating wether to sell the legacy, im not getting many fair offers (the highest has been $1000), or just keep it as a parts car because i have new suspension goodies on it and the motor itself is worth almost $1000. I have one question i hope can be answered:
What parts (if any) will swap from the leggy to the outback?
I'm wondering if it would be worth it to take the throttle body, intake manifold and injectors off the legacy... would i see any power gains... would it bolt right on?
I'm assuming they wouldnt bolt right up to the SOHC heads.
The other reason i want to keep the leggy is if i blow up this 2.2L i would do a hybrid 2.2L with the DOHC heads and slap a turbo on it and make a rally car
Any help is appreciated... FYI the leggy is 2.5L and outback is 2.2L.

Engine won't swap over, the SOHC is MAP intake (should be, pop the hood and see if there's a MAF sensor near the fender intake - shouldn't look like your 97 GT).

Only the suspension, brakes and headers are a straight swap Legacy to GF - the intakes will likely be different, along with the ECU (MAF to MAP).
The rear exhaust will be different, with the midpipe and axleback having different hangars.

Rear swaybar won't fit unless you hammer the spare wheel space flat.

Wheels and tires will fit, providing you match stock profile.

If you swap suspension you'll have to swap everything - Legacy springs + Impreza perches do not go well.

Thanks man thats pretty much everything i wanted to know
I didnt think the header would fit. I thought the GF only had single port on the exhaust but leggy has 2?
I would love to take it...
Thanks again
