Double Din Touch Screen- Lose Cup Holders?

I've been reading around a bit about the double din touch screens for our cars and thought I saw somewhere that you essentially lose the use of your cup holders. Is this true? I was looking at swapping out my head unit now for something a bit flashier and useful.

Even if you did lose your use of the cup holders, the cup holders in general arent the greatest in the world...

I know they're not, but they do serve a purpose.

im guessing your talking about the flip up screens. then yes you cant use the cupholder. you can make some custom cupholder that go into the center console next to the ebrake

No, not flip up. They have units that have a screen that just takes up the double din area that are all touch screen.

I'd like to have another head unit, like I had in my Jeep, that has my Sirius all integrated. Plus you can add onto these quite a bit; rear view camera, iPod connection, etc. Cool shit.

Double DINs don't block the use of the cupholder - the cupholders are in a small slot between the HVAC and the 2 DIN slots.

I've had a 2DIN unit in before, cupholders are fine. Stop worrying and start looking at the console. :D

Yeah I knew the screen wouldn't block the cup holders, I was just referring to another post I saw. I'll find it again.

What about my console? I haven't had my coffee yet......
