throttle body position sensor

i got a CEL that goes on and off randomly so it seems..
its error code p0122 - throttle body position sensor low input..


someone said to recalibrate it and that hopefully that would fix the CEL and the problem ive been having which seems linked:
when the car is dead cold, ive experienced two or three times when there is absolutely no throttle response.. there was one time when i held the pedal and put it to the floor for about half a second.. and nothing happened..
makes sense that theyre linked..


how do i recalibrate the sensor?
or if anyone else has a fix for this problem...

There are two screws that hold the sensor... I believe they're alignment screws.

Search around the threads, you should find a pic of the sensor. It's not an easy adjustment and takes some time to get "right".

well to do it the cheap way hook a multimeter to the center wire (should be the signal) when the throttle is closed it should be .5v and at WOT it should be 5v. the other way to do it is with a scantool and postion it when the throttle is closed and should be at around 5%. but sounds like the TPS is going and should be replaced

isnt that just a way to tell if its functioning.... and whethere i need a new one?
assuming that does check out.. how is it recalibrated?
