JDM BD Rear Window

I picked up a JDM BD Rear Window, and have a few questions.

does anyone know if the top part of the window is for the Antenna?
(I marked the part in question in pink)
It has a spot for only one Tab, which was broke off, but fixable.

2nd question, does anyone know how the wiper motor is mounted,
or can anyone take a photo of it?
I can line up two of the three mounts,
but I have a feeling that I may have to fab something up. (inside the trunk)

Yeah the wire is an for the radio. My G20 had the same setup, with it in the window glass. Reception kinda sucked though..... My mother has ahard time seeing out the back of he BE in winter sometimes, and she really likes the wiper on the BF she drives from time to time. I was going to help her try doing this to her BE, so take some pictures! lol

Pat Olsen on NASIOC.com bought a similar item from jhot a few seasons ago, he's also been trying to figure out how the wiper motor mounts.

IIRC, the motor mounts under the decklid in the trunk.

Perhaps Reuben can snap a pic from a NZ Legacy RS to help.

strip on top is definitely antenna my BE has one but it sucks, regular or small roof antennas are much better, every overpass or bridge you get distortion i wouldn't recommend on using it.

So I just need to "make" a third hole mounting area.
Before I got the photos, I thought that I was making some kind
of plate, for the first two holes, much like the one
in the link above (for the gc).

You'll have to extend+bend the plate, or have a second bracket made up that bolts to the rear deck, and extends down to meet the plate. Though a 2 piece design is going to be far more prone to vibration than a 1-piece.

from a usdm bg/bk

my wagon wiper switch is in, and I have a EDM washer tank,
(three spots for pumps, lol)

wiper spring and cover are wrapped in the white paper above.
the wiper arm was blasted, primed, and painted matte black.

the idea is to install it around march or april.

Bumping this back to the top... I've got the wiper motor assembly, the wiper arm (from a wagon), the seal thing that goes into the window around the shaft of the wiper motor, a dual pump washer fluid reservoir (from a wagon), and a interval wiper turn signal stalk from a GT or Outback Limited wagon (so it's got controls for both wipers and still retains the interval wipers for the front; the base model wagons don't have the interval wipers).

One thing I don't have that Phi11 posted is that relay - what is that for?

Edit: In addition to not having the bracket for the "3rd hole", on my car there's nothing in the other two holes to thread a bolt into. The two holes are there in the rear upper lip of the trunk, but there's no nut welded to the backside of the sheetmetal or anything like that. Should be a relatively easy fix - cut some slots to use U-nuts probably. Just curious if the other US guys who are looking at this actually have something on the backside of those holes to thread into, or if theirs are empty holes like mine.

I, too, would like to see about installing all this in the spring. I've had the window and motor assembly since 2007 (or was it 2006?). It's been moved across country once, and will move across country again here in a few weeks, back to the Mid-Atlantic.

Glad to see other people are doing the rear wiper thing. Awesome addition. I did mine least year and will have it functional in a few weeks.

Looks like the BDs are exactly the same though it seems you have an advantage of already having the holes to mount the bracket or were they simply drilled. Took me lots of time to measure exactly where I should mount it using pictures as a guide.

Gotcha, thanks. I'm in the process of driving cross country (in one of my other cars). Legacy is on its way via truck, and the window and all the bits are once again on a moving van heading cross country. Hopefully I can finally get this thing put together once I'm settled on the East Coast!
