I'm excited, getting my engine re sealed and replacing the timing belt, oil pump, head gasket and heads with porting. I'm going with the sti headgaskets. I'll let you guys know how it turns out but the guy doing it is estimating a 50 hp gain. I will be stoked to just get the thing to quit leaking oil.

if you get 15hp you should be stoked..... then again you would have to know what you had beforehand...

sorry to be a Debbie downer but thats na tuning, and if you didn't do anything with the cams or have some EM, don't get excited about any HP claims...

well thats still cool. dude might have been meaning 50 hp with those mods along with custom intake and headers w gutted exhaust. we were throwing around a few ideas. anyway, I'm stoked to have my engine quite leaking oil, its comming outta both valve covers and the rear main. the good news is that the work is being done for a good price and I should be able to afford a pully, and custom intake and some headers here shortly.

Still wouldn't be 50hp with supporting mods. For that kind of gain you'd have to run higher compression, higher octane and some pretty decent cams, and then you'd have to run aftermarket EM to ensure it doesn't go boom.

Why are you using STi headgaskets?

to bump up the compression, the sti gaskets are suppose to be a little thinner than the stock 2.5 ones.

you have to be carefull because the piston on the na 2.5 stikes out and will hit the valve and fu_k up everything!
