SO I changed the oil and put some injector cleaner in the car yesterday and then started her up. She started and then died right away. THen I started it up and put my foot on the gas. the car ran well at about 1800 rpm but then I slowly backed my foot off of the gas and it would keep running until i took my foot completly off and then it would just die. It seems that it won't idle. I have a check engine light on but no way to read it. I thought it could be a throttle sensor, a fuel pump, or even a fuel filter problem. let me know if you have any input.

Sounds like your MAF sensor is unplugged, or your Idle Air Control Valve.

What year/make/model of car?

It's a 1997 legacy L. I thought it could have also been the maf. un plugged it and plugged it back in, and the same thing happened.

IAC mostlikely but pull the code if you can drive it somewhere. i know autozone pulls them free

It ended up being a break in the plumbing back from the intake so it wouldn't breath right at idle. Thanks for all the input.

i did that a few hours after i bought my leggy freaked me out too...the funny thing about it all was I tried it on my 95 impreza when I had it and it never died when pulling the same hose odd on the other hand I went to change the filter in the more on a cold day and I snapped the plastic iac off so whenever I had the defrost on or ac and foot off the gas the car idle would jump around or die.. annoying I never brother to fix it since I knew I would not have the car much longer

Yep, did that as well with my BK. I had no idea what was happening and drove home; had to keep the throttle up and clutch kick starts all the time. I got home, poped the hood........... damnit.
