I just replaced my headlight bulbs with Silverstar 9004's. Ever since i installed them, my high beam indicator is on and won't come off unless i fully shut off my lights. Another thing, when i do put the high beam switch on, the lights actually go dimmer (almost like a daylight illumination setting)!!! anyone know what the problem could be? I tried calling 2 subaru dealerships and both haven't heard of that problem before. Any ideas?

Switch your bulbs back to the stock ones. Does the problem go away?

quality control in the factory is only to make sure the light works. doesnt mean they can cross circuit. so maybe you got some bad bulbs. if the problem goes away with a different set of bulbs the bulbs are bad and you should exchange them. after that you might have user error, installed incorrectly, or have a burn wire

the sylvania silver-stars' arnt the best bulbs out on the market they have a blueish coating that actually reduces light output.

cant find the review that tested them but the overall recommendation was to get sliver star lights from an overseas manufacturer but i cant remember the name

and on you original issue does it look like the high beams are on also with the low beams? that would be evidence of getting the short end of the stick bulb wise

Ok, it's definitely the bulbs.... i exchanged them, same thing.... i put back the original ones i had on before, and the problem was solved.

Grafton,
Someone else told me that too. the silverstars are pretty crap. What about those GE Nighthawks or something? those any good?

EHHH *buzzer sounds* unless they are in a bixenon projector or offroad light, HID in Highbeams is horrible. specially if u flash to pass you kill your bulbs pretty fast.

Osram. Not worth the shipping... Just clear up the exteriors or install JDM projectors.

If HeresMyMind would do projector retrofits into stock housings I'd be allover it.

I've never been disappointed with a Hella Bulb. You might wanna try a set.
