Gday

I have recently purchaced a base model legacy(liberty here) and was wondering if a H6 motor from and outback would be an easy conversion.

Australias laws restrict anyone under 21 from driving a turbo charged car
so kw's have to be gained in other areas.

It is currently bog standard and performace is terrable .

does anyone have any suggestions????

Find a RHD H6 Legacy and the swap is essentially done. You'll have to make sure you clear the radiator and get the ECU and wire harness...

It's a lot more work than you probably want to do just to get some HP/kw.

Honestly, just focus on your suspension - power to the ground gives you more bang for buck given your age.

On a tight course, a low-hp car with great suspension (and a great driver) will outdo a high hp car just about any day.

Driver training isn't a bad way to go either, they can help you maximise your shift points and balance the car... any car.

thanks

ive had a shot at a driver training day it was sweet and have raced for the past 5 years at the local car club

im looking to make it a car which can take a bit of a beating off road and still be used as a daily driver

i know handling is the most important in a quick car and tires are the major factor... usually i use rally tyres when racing. to improve handling.

its just that it seems to run out of revs very quickly.

at about 6500
thanks for all the help

never seen a 2000 RHD engine bay but doubt its much different from LHD, other than steering column for what its worth my 2002 H6 bay looks identical to my old 98 BD bay and identical to SilentRacers BE. I think there are few pics of it in my members rides thread. The engine if mated to a right transmission is very capable and reliable unfortunately the stock 4eat sucks really badly its made for comfort not so much for spirited driving. Although i can easily keep up with 06 GT turbo and stock WRXs. if you need any info or pics just let me know.
