Hey everybody! Long time no post from me.

Anyways, I've got a buddy with a 1996 Legacy wagon. Not sure if it's a 2.2 or 2.5, but his serpentine belt decimated itself. I work at pepboys, so parts are cheap. I'm just wondering how difficult it is to actually remove and replace the belt. I'm at school, so I only have access to basic hand tools.

Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

Anybody got some general step-by-step advice? Tips?

you'll need a 12mm socket and a 10mm socket plus a 5in extension. take off the belt cover between the ps pump and the altenator, loosen the left alt bolt then loosen the long adjustment bolt all the way down you can replace the first belt
for the ac compressor the tenshiner is below the ac compressor loosen the bolt on the pulley then using the extenion loosen the long bolt all the way the second belt is ready for replacement

inslation is the reverse of removal

sorry for the bad spelling posting via my phone
