Guess this dash symbol

i thought it was for my exhaust flap but one of my buddies said on his type R its the O2 heater...... its driving me nuts

Its worst than seeing the CEL so i try to ignore it so i covered it with my boost gauge.

Yeah.. i would guess something to do with o2.. because thats what it looks like in mercedes.. though.. maybe it means.. 'soup is hot'.. :lol:

its not causing any CEL's so it might not be something all too important, but dont wanna take any chances but it dissapears at full throttle most of the time.

I am driving around without a axelback now, just turbo back and mid pipe and it just randomly blinks so it might not be the exhaust flap.

all i do at work is worry about this car :(

These are really the only ones I'm aware of. You can probably still get a code pulled for that.

edit: i stand corrected.. looks like the mercedes light does not look exactly like that for o2 sensor.. hmm.

It's likely to be a JDM warning symbol...so look for a feature that your car has, that a USDM model doesn't, and see if it's still working.

high chance its the Exhaust flap thingy, that was the only thing i didnt take off the GTB. it has a whench like thing in the trunk. (added weight so i ditched it)

I'll take a picture of that stupid thing i have on my exhaust when i go home.

Cause it's the cat overheat sensor. Easy way to fix it is to take the cat out, problem be gone!

Yeah, it's pretty insignificant, it just means the catalytic converter is too hot. I think that means the cat will either die or not be working properly or something. just remove the cat, and stick a bit of straight pipe in it's place. I'm pretty sure the sensor is in the second cat, the one after the Y join - i remember destroying mine when we took out the centre pipe, but forgot to un-plug it :roll:

btw, keep an eye on your temp gauge on the dash cluster, if the cat's are too hot, the rest of the engine may be too hot!

thanks for the heads up, the car is parked for a few days, swapped everything striking thing except the rear Diff :smt012 do cruising along about to pass someone, dropped it in 3rd press it and bam!

Plan on getting a oil cooler, water temp and oil press gauge.
