so I bought and installed led license plate and reverse lights. Love the plate lights
Backup lights seem dimmer than the stocks. Maybe I didn't get good ones? Or you think it's just cause the beam of light is so narrow it's only bright straight out from the bulb?
Any one else have these?

Id say you have it right with the LED's not having a large field of light.. since LED's only really provide direct / narrow field of light. You could always try modding them if it really bothers you.. cutting the tops off LED's and making them square will make the light distribution less narrow.

'In contrast to other lighting technologies, LED light tends to be directional. This is a disadvantage for most general lighting applications, but can be an advantage for spot or flood lighting.'
