one side of my car is lower ?!?

I was looking at my car in the driveway today, and I noticed something weird. The drivers side, front and back, Sits exactly 1/2 inch lower than the passengers side. :smt017 There was nothing in the car, and the driveway is level. Any thoughts? Is my suspension just somehow worn out more on that side ???

It was full. however, maybe I'm wrong, but doesn't the tank span the width of the car?

yeah IIRC it sits pretty much parallel to the rear axle, so perpendicular to the way the car travels, making this not a likely reason, especially with a full tank.

If somehow your tank was clogged and the fuel only sat on the side of the pump/gauge then maybe this would make sense as the car would read full tank but only be halfway full with the fuel only on that side. Gasoline is pretty heavy and could do this but i don't see how you clog your tank up like that.

I'm gonna suggest that you check how level your parking spot was. Go drive the car around and park it somewhere you know is level and then keep checking. If it still is lower on one side you need to start checking your suspension system (broken springs, worn out struts, improper installation on that side)

When did you install your suspension last? Maybe a spring is upside down or something on one of the sides causing it to look lower? Either that.. or if its stock suspension.. could be a broken spring or severely worn struts?

I have the exact same problem.. I am still sitting on stock struts/springs all way round until the summer comes and i install my tiens.

My buddy with his bk also has the same problem but not my buddy with his bd gt.

This maybe relavent. . .it may not:

I had a B2200 with the rear springs flipped on six inch blocks and the torsion bars turned all the way down and the little old truck was tough. It sat lower than my BK. It bounced like crazy and did dougnuts like nobody's business. One day I hit a stale green light and jumped an 4 lane intersection at 45 mph. When I landed the driver side front shock compressed so hard it didn't release. The front corner just stayed down and didn't have any suspension. So I limped it into a parking lot and got my pit-crew to bring me a floor jack so I could see what I had done. The corner was only three or four inches off the ground so I couldn't even look at it until they got there. Well after they laughed at me a lot we jacked it up and got ready to look at it. Just before I stuck my head behind the wheel to look. . .POW!!!. . . the shock decompressed and the wheel shot down. We let it back down and it was fine after that.

Your situation seems strange, because I wouldn't think both struts would be having problems. My BK has 180k on the original suspension and I haven't noticed anything odd like this. What kind of mileage do you have? You did say it's the driver side, right? Do you weigh a lot? I weigh 180 so my weight doesn't affect the suspension much when I get in. Worn struts can cause you to lose a noticable amount of ride height.

I'm kind of waiting for some warmer weather and a little more cash flow, and then I'll dig deeper into this.

Have you noticed any difference in ride? Any strange body roll when making sharp turns?

Maybe slightly off topic; I use to know an old man who had lived by himself his whole life, in the late 70's he purchased a half ton ford truck that he drove up to his death in 2005. He always was by himself in the truck and if you looked at the truck there was a huge lean towards the drivers side.
