I have a 05 Legacy that just had engine replaced. I was driving down the road and CEL came on and upon depressing the accelerator, nothing happened. No movement in RPM...and it was like I did not have control of the acceleration.

I have taken the vehicle to one of the most reputable Japanese Auto Clinics in the Mid Atlantic region and he is dumbfounded. The CEL says throttle body sensor and the code is p2138. Can any one help as I do not know what in the hell is wrong with my car.

The timing of the light coming on and off is random. Car can be warm or cold....have been driven for miles or upon startup....

First of all, welcome.

2nd of all, did you go back to the place that replaced your engine to recheck their work? There must be a warranty involved with the installation of the new engine.

According to my extremely quick google search of that OBD code, it does not relate to the throttle body sensor:

Rather, it is for P2138 Accelerator Position Sensor Circuit Range.
Which sounds about right when you have no power when pressing the accelerator pedal down.

another 05 legacy motor. rod knock im guessing. as for the code the car is drive by wire i wonder if the unit on the throttle body got damaged or the connection isnt good.. the unit is on the right side(left side if your looking from the front of the car) of the throttle body. try unplugging it and plug it back in. since im guessing the engine replacement was warranty and the transfer the harness
