Swapping Tires

Today I got some GT rims for my Outback and was wondering is it possible to swap the tires on my Outback rims to the GT rims?

I know the GTs tire size is 205/55-16 and the Outback is 205/70-15 but is that a big difference to not swap the tires?

You physically cannot do that - the Outback tire is for a 15" alloy, the GT is a 16" alloy. Tires will not fit.
