Okay, here we go - a series of voting posts to get ready for January's SL-i.net Forza Motorsport 2 Invitational.
ROUND 1!!! CLASS SELECTION!!!
Okay, this topic has been chewed up, spit out, and recycled again and again. What class will we run?
Explanation:
To the uninitiated, here are some car examples for car classes in Forza Motorsport 2 (apologies for inconsistencies, this is a general idea of car designation):
Class D: Eagle Talon / Mitsubishi Eclipse
Class C: Group B Audi Quattro
Class B: Subaru Legacy
Class A: Porsche 911
Class S: Faaaster than Porsches and Lamborghinis
Class U: supercars like the F40 Competizione
R classes: stooopid fast
In November, when we had test runs, A class races had some of my favorite cars, and some pretty big ranges of speeds and track separation. B class races were okay, and C class races were pretty close at points, depending on car and track selection. The controversy there: the "closeness" in competition was due to everyone picking mostly stock cars.
Aside from a few insane (and insanely funny) races in D class, the only other extreme we went to was the occasional R-class race. So it's probably safe to say that the R classes of vehicles will be out of the running for voting.
That leaves A, B, and C classes for voting. Which class will win the votes? You decide...

EDIT: This is our first invitational, so R-class races are still ruled out. Oh, and just in case the voter resets AGAIN, I chose to write down what the counts were:
1 vote for S class
1 vote for B class
3 votes for C class
As of 12/4/2008 at 3:04PM.
As a reminder, with the exception of the special "Legacy only" class, modifications are allowable. If class A were to win the voting this week, for example, any modified class A car can be run (or any car brought up to class A level). You would not be able to take a class A car and then modify it to become a class S or class U car, and thereby blow the whole purpose for knowing what class you should be in.
