NEED SOME INFO! (airbag steering wheel removal)

any one know the PROPER way to take off a steering wheel that has an airbag. ive heard horror stories of the b!tch blowin when you take it out? any info will be great.

this may need to be moved to the proper subforum but, to answer your question as long as the battery is disconnected there shouldn't be anything to worry about.

......and with the other circuitry fully drained... i.e. take the battery cables CLEAR OFF, take no chances...

and while they are off hit the brakes, flip the key to acc, anything to drain the rest. you won't see anything happen, but it can't hurt!!!

haha yea hit the brake pedal a bunch of times, my buddy just disconnected the terminal and still got a knarly shock from the system once. No serious injury, but funny to watch :lol:

actualy, after you disconnect the battery you should disconnect the airbag mod. its located under your console. this way the airbag is totally disconected from power.
