Hey guys, been browsing this site for about a month and can now finally say that I am a proud parent of a 98 Legacy GT wagon! My other fun car is a 97 Impreza L so I am very familiar with the lingo when it comes to Subaru. For right now the car is a daily driver since my Impreza is just too harsh for these streets, hopefully sometime in the near future I can swap the engine out of the Impreza into the Legacy for some added power! My goal is to make it a very nice cruiser with JDM looks and USDM power. So far so good! :smt023

If any of you are around the Denver area let me know. I'd like to see what you all have planned or what you have done so far. After I got my Leggy the owners of SUBA Performance got a couple of their own so the Legacy bug hit us hard! One is undertaking an STi swap on a 98 Legacy GT sedan at the moment and the other plans to go with a built 4eat and possibly a GT series turbo on what I can only assume will be a very built 2.5 or 2.2.

So far mods include:
JDM projector headlights with 6000k HID
JDM tinted wagon taillights
PIAA Ion Yellow fog light bulbs
Hella 500's mounted in front of grill (not pictured)
Custom front strut bar
Gold powdercoated snowflake Legacy GT wheels
15ish% tint all around
Cross drilled and slotted rotors front and rear

Future mods:
17" JDM Legacy wheels (school me on the difference between the five spokes guys)
L7 grill
JDM front bumper
JDM fog lights
Slight lowering (maybe Eibach if I can find a set *hint hint*)

Welcome! Looks like you're a Subaru head already; awesome. What's done to your impreza to make it too harsh!?!

Well the problem is, I'm too much of a wimp. :smt005

Basically I baby the hell out of my cars, and with a swapped Impreza, that means starting it up in the morning and letting it completely warm up before I drive it. It's just getting to be a bit annoying, plus with winter here and having summer tires, low clearance, stiff suspension, and a shorter wheelbase it's not very safe or confident on the slippery stuff. Also some of the interior is still missing so that brought the NVH up to more than I can deal with as a daily. Looks I could care less about at the moment, it's uglier than the Leggy by a long shot but regardless it'll be sitting indoors for a while.

haha, i did that for a while with my last car.. then i lost all interest and drove it like a race car..

the headgasket blew and now i have a leggy... keep babying them! lol

oh and if you ever want to part with that wing lemme know!

GauDammm Wagonz... Takin over SL-i!!!

Welcome.... You're home now.

If you have pics of your interior, can you post 'em? (probably would be better if you start a pic thread in Member's Rides 1) Thanks.

Bit more like how my car USED to look:
https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2008/05/0610012-1.jpg

Has the wind deflector on the roof still and it has the JDM B4 wheels (which I sold to Markus this summer). Normally found on the 99/00-04 JDM B4 RSK or GT models. 17x7, offset 53.

There are basically two types of B4 wheels, what I have posted above, and the ones that are on d1giphux's car:
https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2008/09/jdmlgt1-1.jpg

^^ those wheels are considered the JDM GT-B or GTB wheels. These are considered one of the toughest wheels Subaru ever had manufactured for the marque, and given the size and design are reasonably lightweight too. Plus they just scream "chunky n tough".

Reuben is currently running these on his black GT-B wagon in New Zealand. 17x7 offset 53 (IIRC).

When Huffer posted his car on RS25 I said the same thing to him. See Huffer? Told ya it's close! Thanks for showing me the difference between the wheels. I think I have to go with the GTB wheels, very chunky for sure.

I'll post these pics and a few more I am taking today of the engine and interior, I think the interior may be cleaner than the exterior!

The pics were taken right in the DTC so yea you are dead on liquid. I work at Go Toyota so I am right up the road from you. I'd like to say I've seen you around, but with so many Subaru's around here it's tough to pick out the gear heads from the rest of the crowd.

Haha, yeah I get that a lot. The way I figured it, if I worked on Subaru's all day, I wouldn't want to work on them when I got home. This way it's a bit of a change at least. And I still enjoy working on my own car afterward, so it has worked so far!

That's true in a way. The other guys I work with that have Subaru's aren't really modded in the least, whereas mine...

But I also used to work at SUBA so it's a bit different for me.
