Use 1 of the hood pin switches from a car alarm. Wire it using the ground as a switch.

110volt bulb in a 12volt circuit.. light would last long. just find a junk light socket that will hold a 1156, 3056, or 3156. mount and wire

You could just go to the junkyard and get an actual simple under hood light from some truck with one already. Just unbolt it and snip the wire harness off. Just give it the power and ground and bolt it to your hood somewhere. You have your under hood light that automatically lights when you pop your hood up. :smt004

i cant drive for a bit cause of my ticket so something around the house for the time being

i did take some of those tube bulbs that are in the lights on the inside roof of the car...a wire on each side should light it up...it all goes back to the button haha

If you get a junk yard underhood light from a GM they have a mecury switch built into them that activates the light when the hood is raised. All you need is to hook up a fused hot wire and a decent place to mount it.
