So, I attempted to remove my gauge cluster today and was thwarted by the blinky valet button for the factory alarm. Unlike the rest of the buttons below the gauge cluster, this one has no clip-in harness. I tried tracing the wires through the wiring cluster under the panel below, and it seems to disappear into the fray before connecting into anything.
Is there a way to remove this, and therefore the gauge cluster, short of cutting and resplicing the wires?
Thanks,
Phil

I'm pretty sure that's the valet mode button.

You can cut it and reconnect it later but you will likely have to reprogram your remotes to sync to your alarm module.

The blinky button, the red light to the left of the column (next to the fog switch if you got 'em) I ran into this same problem when removing a certain bulb from my dash (no, not the CEL).
Whoever installed my alarm had the wire for the light so tightly wound into the harness that I couldn't move the cluster bezel more than a half an inch off the dash. MADE ME ANGRY.
Finally, after trying unsucessfully to remove the light or the light's bezel fromt he cluster bezel, I gave up and took the alarm unit down from the dash, leaving everything plugged in (it was just zip-tied in place) and re-ran the wiring harness to give me the slack I needed.
Then I just tucked the cluster bezel out of the way so I could pull the cluster out, and that bulb I didn't want burning anymore.
