I originally wanted to grab one of those Subaru OEM compass gauges with outside air temp, borometer, and compass that fit in the stereo slot but they are discontinued and cant find one. Looks like this:
http://subarupartspeople.com/searchprod ... Gauge+Pack (http://subarupartspeople.com/searchproduct.asp?model=Impreza&catid=324836002676315&year=01&productdesc=Gauge+Pack)
So has anyone put together a 3 gauge set that fits into one of the stereo slots? I measured the space and there is 2'' of height so the common 2 1/16 (52mm) gauges probably wont fit even though I really want them to because that size has some nice gauges. lol
I found this 3 hole DIN size mount.
http://www.autoaccessorysupply.com/serv ... ods/Detail (http://www.autoaccessorysupply.com/servlet/the-102971/3-dsh-Hole-In-dsh-Dash-Gauge-Pods/Detail)
I might just get a piece of aluminum and cut the holes myself though but looks like I need to use the 1.7'' 45mm gauges... preferably looking for white face/ blue glow and I've checked out Omori. Want an outside temp and oil pressure gauge. Any sugestions? Thanks

My turbo'ed Outback has three 52mm gauges in the lower din slot. The faceplate was custom made out of aluminum. I don't have a photo of it currently. The gauges sit back a hair because the DIN slot isn't quite 52mm tall but it looks very nice. If you wanted a pic I could either take one and host it or I could even shoot one with my cell phone and text it to you tomorrow morning.

Nice, so you can fit the 52mm gauges in there. I would be interested to see your set up whenever you get a chance to take a pic. Thanks

I used the impreza gauges and the pocket it came with, and it'll fit. just a little bit of a gap you can see on the right side.

having a turbo would make me want a manual that much more... bolt on or swap? still sik though!
Nice, thats what i'm looking for but just a pod for gauges. I will most likely get some aluminum and try to fit those 2 1/16 size gauges in ther. Still would like to see a pic of impreza_gc8's gauges if you get a chance, show off your setup!

Off the stock radio? or junkyard everything was pretty much plug and play from there.

oh ok, the face plate comes with the bracket. it's a whole unit. I took the unit off and bolted to my stock radio bracket. the bracket the gauges come with didn't fit very well.

I honestly have no clue...I bought it from a guy on nasioc. I think it's off the '02-03 Imprezas or the older Impreza RS. The gauges are factory Impreza gauges label under a company named Lamco I believed. Search on nasioc in their classifieds and you'll eventually find one.

They were factory optioned on 02-03 WRX's if I recall. Pretty rare option though.
I'm still trying to get off my lazy butt and get you a pic of my setup. Sorry.

I installed 3 52mm gauges in my middle slot, they had to be very tight together and overlapped because of the outter ring of the gauges. By overlap i meant the middle gauge is closer to the side ones. There should be a picture of the gauges in the "My car gallery" of my car, can't post pics i'm at work. You could probably make a nice custom faceplace for them for cheap, i'm just lazy.

Well I officially suck at life. Here's a pic, several weeks after you wanted it.

Hah it's better than never. Nice pic you can't really tell that they are pushed back in the slot at all.
So there was enough room on the piece of aluminum to hold the diameter of the 52mm?
Were the holes actually a bit shorter in diameter?
What kind of gauges are those?

I got those off ebay, they are JDM. There is the volts, temp (I use it for tranny) and oil pressure. The wiring has been cleaned up since them. It came with the JDM sensors and harness, a mystery box, which was a bit "difficult" to figure out.

There was enough room however just barely. Honestly the holes are pretty much the same height as the piece. They do sit back just a bit. I can't see the whole gauge, the top part is cut off just a hair because they sit back.
Prosport, their cheapest series. I love them.
Here's a better pic, a little less "artsy" lol.

Nice seats. I was going to go with prosport if I could fit 52's in ther, I got white face/ blue illumination tach, speedo, fuel, and temp gauge faces from x360graphicx so those prosports would match nicely. I'm not a fan of color clashing but the green scheme with your prosports doesn't look bad. I also think we have the same Alpine deck.
If I can change the green illumination to blue in the fan/ heater deck it will all be blue. :smt026

You can fit 52's but you need an empty slot (like the cubbyhole) below the DIN mount because there's about a 1/4" overhang that would otherwise hit the radio. It's a tight fit, but it can work.
