Today on the way home from an inlaws house in 17 deg weather i noticed weird behavior out of the temp gauge, the motor was warming up normally, so i thought, but when i hit above 3500rpms the temp needle dropped like a rock almost strait to C well let the car coast with the clutch pushed in letting the car idle as we cruised along, and the temp gauge started rising. after that i down shifted and ran the motor @ appox 4200 rpm and again the temp needle dropped ,

even took it on the interstate, as long as the revs are below 3500 then the temp gauge warms up to normal operating temp but run it above that and the needle starts to drop and the air blowing from the heater feels like it is not as hot when the needle drops

also when we got home i checked the motor, nothing looked off, the alt. was too hot to hold my hand on without feeling discomfort the upper radiator hose was a little firm with pressure but the entire radiator was cold to the touch

bad rad cap? bad themostat ( the motor heats up *but not overheating at all* below 3500 rpm but not above) bad radator like clogged?

Your thermostat is stuck open or partially open. If you want to confirm what your seeing borrow a obdII scanner and see what it reads on engine temp.
