Does anyone know if the BD/BG 5MT driveshaft is compatible with any other Subaru model?

-DO NOT USE an Outback driveshaft they have a 1" difference due to the lift.
-5MT Legacy shafts are longer then impreza shafts.
-4EAT Impreza shafts should be the same length as the legacy 5MT.
-GD 6MT are much shorter then standard 5MT legacy shafts.

Don't hold me to this but SF chassis should be the same as GC chassis .. Impreza with a taller roof and lift..

Not sure if this will help but good luck Huff.

The Legacy is significantly longer in wheelbase than the Impreza, the driveshafts are not interchangeable.

-4EAT Impreza shafts should be the same length as the legacy 5MT.
Extremely unlikely. Impreza 4EAT is shorter than Impreza 5MT, which is shorter than Legacy 5MT.

Legacy 4EAT is also shorter than Legacy 5MT, don't know how it compares to Impreza 5MT.

Impreza 6MT should be the same length as Impreza 4EAT afaik, not sure on that one though.

not guna lie, pretty sure all 5spds have the same length drive shaft. only thing i would see a potential problem with is the distance between the 4 bolt pattern, but i think that's only different when it comes to autos/manuals. if i had the time right now i would check the wheel bases between the cars cause i think they are mostly the same, its the tranny length that differs.

Oooops sorry about that maybe this will help

(5MT swap into a GCRS)

Absolutely…

Legacy driveshaft is longer than the Impreza's

the Impreza slip-yoke is fully extended and it’s still short from the Legacy shaft. Both the front and rear of the entire propeller assembly are different sizes. For example, a Legacy MT shaft is longer in the front and the rear then an Impreza MT shaft.

The rear portion of the Legacy shaft (from the center mounting point) is longer then the Impreza shaft so therefore no it won’t fit in an Impreza.

I too had the same problem only reversed. I had a WRX shaft (in pic) I was putting in my Legacy. It didn’t fit, too short in the front and rear from the center mounting point.

The Legacy has a longer wheelbase which is why the shaft is different. it's 3.5" inches.

Impreza A/T drive shaft are too short because the 4EAT tranny is longer. An Impreza MT driveshaft works and I think an A/T Legacy driveshaft works (longer wheelbase). " - Nabisco

Sorry for the jumbled posts .
