Ok, yeah im ticked now!!! Drove home last night noticed had anti freeze all over drivers tire. Gauge read normal temp, thought maybe it was the thermostat. Changed thermo left for work this morning got 2 to 3 miles from the house all of the sudden gauge went to hot. Pulled over at qt (gas station) left car there all day, it cooled off babied it home. Now i gotta replace h/gaskets. Any ideas on what else should be replaced besides gaskets and water pump?! Ahhhhh i feel better lol

Are you sure its the head gaskets that have gone bad? You might just have a coolant leak. You should pressurize the coolant system to see if it is indeed losing pressure. Narrow out any other possibilities and make sure it is the H/G's before dumping $1200+++ to have them replaced. If it is the H/G's, make sure you use the revised and updated version that Subaru came out with.
With the 2.5L's - when it rains it pours
The water pump should be done along with resealing the oil pump, new timing belt and definitely do the timing belt tensioner as well. 90K service.

How do you get coolant all over the driver side wheel? The wheel is protected by a fender, and a fender liner.
You should never get coolant on the wheel...?

Are you doing this at home or taking it to a shop?
You should never get coolant on the wheel...?
First thought here too.

Unless it leaked on the ground and he drove through it.

What it is is the gasket is letting air into coolant, creating an air bubble and overflowing my overflow tank while drivng. Fan slings coolant all over underside of engine and in doing so it runs down onto tire and then gets it into the fenderwell. $345 for gasket kit, 100 for water pump and 350 for labor. dealership wanted 1500 plus tax to do it. I bought the car from the guy march 07 had valve covers, timing belt, front seal replaced nov 07 ($200). He did a great job on that so i am sending it back to him to fix this part too.
