Anyone try nexen n3000 or n5000?

Nexen tires are made in Korea and are owned by Michelin USA. I see good reviews on other forums. Anyone here try them? The hercules tires i wanted to run before don't come in the size I want. 235/45/17

I have never tried them personally but michelin's have always been great tires for me, are this winter or summer tires?

i got nexens on my car as we speak work really nicely their the directional rain tires...not sure exactly what it is ill look later for you

i personally am happy with them i used to have pirellis but they went bald

I run the Nexen N7000's - their all-season "performance" tire. For the price, they're awesome; I bought a second set with my new wheels. I haven't run the new generation of Kumho all-seasons, but they're better than the 711's and 712's in all conditions, and they're pretty comparable to the Falken 912's I run on the STi. Seem to have good wear characteristics, decent grip, and they're quiet - great all around tire, especially if your'e goign to run something sticky during summer like I do. They do run wide; a 225 is like most 235's and a 235 is like a 245. I run a 235/40/17 and it's already a beefy tire, I'd recommend against the 235/45 if you can help it as it's going to be pretty tall and wide.

This is a 235 on an 8" - not messing around in terms of size. Fenders are rolled and pulled int he rear, fronts are stock in this picture (rolled and pulled them later to get a bit more room as the car rubbed a touch at this height in front.)

so you don't think i could fit 235/45/17 on a 7.5 wheel under my 06 gt on stock suspension if i get nexens? Also if you could measure the width and height of those I could know for sure.

7.5 will bubble a bit more, like I said, it's more like a 245. Any measurements I take would be worthless because it's a different rim width, etc - keep in mind that your stock size is a 215/45/17, you're trying to go considerably wider with the same sidewall ratio. Not saying it won't work, but it does look funky; I see STi guys do the same fitment and it looks "off" to my eye. In a perfect world, you'd run a 245/40/17 and be at the same OD (within .4%); a 235/40 is a touch below (.9%), a 235/45 a touch above (3% high).
I'm sure it will be within reason on a BL, I just want to caution other people who might refer to this later, since I tend to get PM's like "I have a car (no other specifics given), how wide of a tire can I run without rolling the fenders on a 7-9 inch rim?" :grin:
