Help me purchase some brake upgrades for the GT

So my master cylinder is shitting the bed and I'm going to replace it once the weather gets better. Since I'm doing that I want to drain/replace all the fluid in the brake system with new stuff as well as do some upgrades while I'm at it.

The upgrades consist of new pads and some stainless steel brake lines. I just need help on where to buy the parts and possibly some p/n's so I don't buy the wrong thing.

For pads should I go with the Hawk HPS? I've cooked the shit out of my stock pads and want something that'll handle heat better with little to no dusting or noise. (I know that's a lot to ask with a performance based pad, is it possible?) Are there hawk pads spec'd for certain years of LGT's or is it like a 95-99 are all the same size kinda deal.

Also where can I buy the SS lines, are there difference lengths or is it just one size fits all for subies?

reason has some nice SS brake lines. as for everything else.. i wouldnt take advice from me ;)

You could use a 02-05 WRX master cylinder. They run similar sized brakes.

I use Hawk HPS pads with stock rotors and they perform pretty well. Takes a little time to heat up esp in the winter but otherwise the dusting etc isn't bad. I have dark wheels so I don't notice too much.

Stainless steel lines and Super Blue fluid are good.

Also, look into the H6 brake upgrade for the rear. You will retain the calipers but get a bigger rotor, which equals better heat dispersion (and more effective braking). It also pulls the brake bias slightly more to the rear, which is nice for trail braking or slight braking adjustments on turn-in corner entry.

I'm not looking to do major brake upgrades as I'm satisfied with their performance how it is. I just need a better pad that doesn't give up the ghost so quickly. I'm looking to keep the cost below $300 for pads/lines/fluid.

I'm talking with Reason atm for the stuff but if anyone else wants to chime in about the fluid/lines or Hawk pads please do I'm all ears :grin:

I use Axxis Ultimates. Reasonably priced, but very dusty. But they're the best brake pads I can get for my L trim, and they're much better than anything else I have used.

I installed some Hawk HPS pads from boxer4racing.com and noticed a nice improvement for daily driving. As for the dusting, significantly reduced. Just checked the pads after about 8 months of use and they still look thick like new, I would definately recommend them. :grin: which is what I just did...

Is like the streets of San Francisco around here. These actually stop the car, compared to the unbelievable fade of the previous pads.

Take a look at www.raceshopper.com (http://www.raceshopper.com) this is were i got my hps pads and slotted rotors. They also carry fluid and lines. They were fast and easy to deal with.
