binding-grinding noise when I turn..?

I drove down to Florida for vacation yesterday (about 800 miles) and when I got here my car started making an awful grinding/binding noise coming from the front end when i take a tight turn (like turning onto a street). It didnt make any odd noises or anything when I am driving straight or on the highway.

When I got back into the car today to drive it over to a friends to use his floor jack, it did not make any noises at all. No griding or binding or anything.

I didnt see anything out of the ordinary or anything when i was looking under it. I have replaced all the tie rods ends and ball joints less then 15000 miles ago, so I dont figure it should be something like that unless one of them was defective.

Anyone have any ideas? Im going to try and find a decent shop down here where I am to get it checked out in a day or two.

As for your problem, you're describing torque bind, it's an issue which affects all 4EAT transmissions, but more prominently the pre 97' ones.

The best way to fix this issue, is to flush your ATF system, ASAP and add new fluid + lube guard. Also do the diff fluid too..because if you don't sooner or later your tranny will collapse on you. :( Ask me how I know.

A more deeper explaination can be found via this forum, NASIOC or google if you use the terms Torque bind, or if you want you can see my previous post where people helped me identfying the issue. :P Hopefully you won't have to go the route I did and install a new tranny as it burned out solenoid C.

Could also be something simple as half-shaft had a torn boot and that the cv joint had no grease left causing it to bind.

I have a 5 speed.
