Ok. I got a 96' Legacy L. I was smashin one day and boom (not relly a boom) the timing belt jumped. The right side cam went off timing 3 teeth. So I went and took it all apartand when I go to take off the tensioner pulley its hand loose! WTF! Then I find out what ever bakyard mechanic who changed the T-belt last decidid to tighten this bolt until he removes all the poor aluminium threads from the block. So I do my best and add a longer bolt. It didn't work out too well. Last night I was racing in the Oakland hills after a all day rain and it happned again! This time only 1 tooth so I was able to drive it ok. So now I must go in and do a helicoil!!! >:-(
I know its not a question or anything but I just had to share my frustration with you. I know us mechanics do this kinda fixing for a living but we just hate fixing other peoples BIG mistakes. I'm just glad I don't have an interfearince engine
