To B.E. or Not to B.E? (Sideskirts)

I'm split between puting my custom sideskirts back on, (leaving them Black or painting them) or my factory mudflaps.



As some may remember and if you don't, I had the customized BE sideskirts on my BK.

If I painted the sideskirts, I'd probably paint the front lip to match.

When I first installed them, it was because of winter. I was getting tired of dings on the rocker of my old car, that I figured something was better than nothing. Naturally finding a bargain on a good pair of GT sideskirts is rare, + the look of them on the BE grew on me.

However, seeing some of the cars with JDM "spats" have gotten me to think about my own USDM splashguards. Clean look and factory + security from road salt etc...

Leaving it alone came up as a thought. Someday I'll be taking it off the road and taking the ratchet and orbital sander to it for another make over. Just don't want alot more scratches than if I had something to protect it.

I can see the vinyl peeling at some point. I cleaned them up yesterday and I'm gonna put them on temporarily. No one was interested in buying them, and I need some sort of protection.


I'm also scouring the junkyards looking for 1 rear mudflap (I lost 1) to keep the rear bumper semi-clean. But for now the sideskirts will have to do.

I did actually want those sideskirts, but I couldn't afford your price IIRC... but let me know if you have them up for sale (or trade?) again. I'd be willing to give up my stock GT ones for yours.

Shipping is easy too, just pack them together and wrap in a homemade cardboard tube and take to USPS. $15 domestic Priority mail IIRC.

I just don't like seeing skirts banged up in the winter. Had my back been ok end of fall I would have taken mine off for the winter.

Anyways, Anyone else who would like to try it (newer mode sideskirts). There's somethings you should know.

1- They're aren't a direct fit. you'll have to section off about 1" or so. I just did the end cap to look a little cleaner.

2. Having a plastic welding kit is very helpful, as you would have to weld the end cap back into place to screw it back onto the body.

3. If you like your mud flaps, this is not for you. I could use the rears still, but the fronts would have needed to be trimmed. I liked them without...
