Been done. You still need to figure out what to do with your O2 sensors.
But you can buy track-only cat delete pipes from Stromung... www.boxer4racing.com (http://www.boxer4racing.com)

for the o2 sensors my friend just baught O2 sensor adaptors with the threads and drilled a hole where they were on the stock pipe and welded them on - the car should still pass emisions hopefully

In most states this is illegal so most shops make you sign a waiver that the vehicle is for off-road use only or something. Your exhaust will also have a distinct smell :)

if the insection state sees you have no cat. you will fail you. even if you dont require emmisions testing

my wagon has no cats in it and just a muffler and it is way too loud . and when im on it hard you can get some sweet backfires between shifts .

but yes it is illegal to tamper with any cat if it was inplace .

one cay to get out of this is cut it out and take it to a shop and say that it was stolen and the shop will make you a catless pipe .

but if you take a screw driver and a hammer , take you cat out and beat the crap out of it . you can hallow it out .

Quick tip: take off your cat poke it with a screw driver.. give it a few taps with a hammer and watch all that precious ozone saving metals fall out .. you still have the look of a cat but the beauty of straight pipe.

IMO why go through the hassle of doing this and even the chance of CEL's .

high flow cats work just as good and still give you decent gain vs emissions. Theres some cheap OBX universal high flows for under 100 bucks and they have both O2 sensor locations.

If you want more rumble get borla knockoff's and a few types of resonators.

I can tell you that 2.2 / 2.5 do no sound good without cats and resonators.. at least with stock mufler/headers/cat..

Depends. Mine sounds pretty dang good but I've got a little spinny turbine wheel between my exhaust ports and the tailpipe. :)
