the proECM.com powerchip or the ScoobyRacing Torque Chip II
how do they work there not a piggyback or anything and i have a 98 leggy gt will the ecu eventually learn around it?
the power chip says is gives you an increase of 4hp and 7 footpounds of tourqe and that it optimizes your ECU's learning curve??? and that it advanses timming in n/a but not in turbo so it will reduce detination sounds like a good idea to me anybody heard anything?
it also says it removes your top speed limiter but....i have a 4eat and i dont have a limiter some how does any one know why this would be?

It would have to be pretty cheap for me to buy a chip that only gives 4 horse. If its $100+ like most chips, it would not be worth it.

yea like $250 but it also does the timing (I'm thinking about going turbo). I just dont get paying $600+ for a piggy back that only tunes WOT
and that is a solid dynoed 4hp not like the TB spacer, grounding kit and pulleys 2-4hp might get it might not increase

My good friend Chuck ran a ProECM chip on his modified 99 2.5RS - he lost tq.

About 5hp... but not until he hit 5500rpm - which is peak tq on a stock RS.
PP6 is better, just get it tuned.

but is it really woth it so only tune WOT?

what?
A PP6 is a piggyback ECU - it can be tuned to help maximise air/fuel and therefore produce more power/tq across the entire powerband.
A chip just preconfigures the stock ECU map based on a set of standard parameters.

but with piggy backs can only tune open-loop witch is WOT right? because if you tune closed-loop the ecu eventualy learns around it
or am i lost? lol

I hear they leave a bit to be desired. I had the opportunity to purchase one for really cheap a while back and I don't regret passing up the chance. Perhaps you should spend the money on a swaybar or something that will allow you drive the car faster.

well that kinda what i was thinking on the power side though
like whats all the mods worth with out a good tune right? a chip or a piggy pack could make your car perfore alot beter all around
