I have a 95 legacy L awd wagon 5 speed.....

Push down clutch... no crank ..no starter click

tapped on starter got it to start

Then I noticed i was gettin noise from the speakers and the dome light was flickering......

So i disconnected the ground from the starter incase the silonoid might be fusin the to the power and cause even more electrical issues...

The flickering and speaker noise went away..

Few miles later at a light it started to flicker and get speaker noise again.. then the car shut off...

I hopped out and put the ground wire back on and it started right up.

drove about 40 miles no problems... then I got the speaker noise once during traffic at low Rpms..

Im thinking its the alternator... But I dont know why that would cause the car to not start that first time.....

Thanks for any help...

Sounds like your starter is kickin the can.

Check the output on your alternator if its lower then 12.4 you got issues.. if its higher then 13ish you got problems.
Usually noise from the speaker has to do with grounding issues or some would call it "alternator whining"

When my alternator went on me my Emergency Brake Light came on and the battery light came on. Wipers and radio did not work.. Assuming car went into safe mode to reserve power but I am not 100% sure.

As for the flickering ... I have no idea.

Good luck
