I have a 97 legacy outback with horrible yellow one piece headlights.
Foir the cost of replacements i have found some sweet aftermarket projector headlights from an imprezza

They look to be very close fits. Anyone done this swap?
What are your thoughts on HID conversions?

Impreza lights are not going to fit however you could just purchase OEM 99+ two peice headlights, throw them in the oven to make the glue soft, pull them apart and paint the casings black. Reassemble, heat em in the oven again and you'd have the same look for a lot less.

impreza lamps wont fit. if you want an upgraded headlight. look at the jdm legacy projectors (http://shop.ebay.com/items/_W0QQ_dmptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories?_nkw=jdm+legacy+projectors&_sacat=0&_fromfsb=&_trksid=m270.l1313&_odkw=jdm+legacy&_osacat=0), or find a rare set of morrette lamps (http://www.morette.com/products/HEADLIGHTS/SUBARU/LEGACY/HLLEGACY.htm). but those are hard to find. because of low production numbers

I have a full day sanding on each lens. They are better than they were but still prety yellow. I live in the country and would like more output as well. The JDM's are great, but they seem to look yellow alot also. I want the projectors or HID for sure.
So anyone on the list want to sell their trick lights let me know. Also anyone have access to a Symms body kit for a BD?
Been driving with out my fogs for 6 months as my kid decided to hit my fishing boat one day and then a deer the next. So it makes one realize how bad the headlights are and I am spoiled as my other car is a 2004 Volvo cross country.
My car is in the body shop and due back next week and then I start my stereo. I am going to flip the radio and the heater controls, and glass me some nice door pods for the seperates, hinged side woofer boxes for my 12's ( so can access the jack and tail lights, with an appolstered fixed ledge above them with fiberglass pods that run the length of the rear area to get as much airspace as posible as the rear speakers are designed for infinite baffle and i still want them to have some mid bass. I have all of my parts ready to go the amps are all cleaned up and repainted, new fuse holders and battery terminals, and 100 SQ ft of fat mat for this install.
I can not wait to get this system in a car again. It rocked my mudder cherokee with 33 inch X-Terrains!
i will take pics of the install in case any one is interested.

your best luck for syms is importing on through japanparts.com or tuningspec.com though syms doesnt make a rear bump for the bd. i think they make a lip for the rear though.
