I was wondering where my post went in the other thread, haha.

Anyway, it's not that I don't truly enjoy this car, I have fun with it and it has treated me well. There's nothing wrong with it at all. But the opportunity may arise for me to buy my stepmom's Jeep Grand Cherokee. If there's a way that I can afford it, I'll try to sell the Suby to get into the Jeep.

I've got no problem keeping the Suby, but my mind is on the Jeep at the moment.

I was about to throw up a for sale add on mine. I reconsidered because I have so, so much work and parts into my car. I'd never get what I want for it. Its always worth more in the eyes of the beholder. I'm kind of a perfectionist and someday my Legacy will be perfect and completely satisfy what I want out of a car.

In addition to my Legacy I'm looking for a cheap FC3s RX-7 to better satisfy my urge to go fast, that or I'm going to save up and get a Honda CBR 600f4i and finally learn how to ride. I would however trade my Legacy for a nice S5 Turbo :razz:

Peugoby, I'm the same way as you. I'm very, very meticulous about my cars and everything has to be PERFECT otherwise I'm never happy with it. This car has done great but there are just a few things that bug the s*** out of me alot. (i.e. interior rattles, wind noise, car seems to find a new noise to make every month, etc.)

I want to make my car handle better, get some new wheels, then save $4k/take a loan out and swap it. But every time I reconsider it from a financial stand point...I might be better off just getting an 05 LGT in 5-6 months :-? They're getting cheaper by the day, they handle very well for stock, they give great power, and more importantly, it's 5 years newer.

It might be time for me. We've been thinking about an 03 Bugeye Wagon. I'd go with a Fozzy or even another Leggy.... But this would only speed up the process of ditching the BK.

I think with her, it's the age of our BK. Although it has only 126k.

Yeah, I've put a lot of time/work into my car and I really love driving it....but it's the fact that it's automatic that really kills me....Been thinking about a swap for a while now...if that doesn't happen I'm definitely gonna have to let her go =[

When I totaled my GT I was with out a subie for 2 years....... It was the longest 2 years of my life. I had a 91 Accord, which I always wanted one, traded that for a 91 Legacy SS that was a POS and I never registered it. I had a 96 Neon for most of the time, sold that and was driving a 2003 Grand AM. I was happy as pig in shit when I was driving my Legacy home. If you are a true Subaru fan you will know it right away when you are without one. I almost traded in my GT for a 97 Accord, and none of this (SLi) would have happened.... :twisted:

Moral of the story kids, be careful what you wish for. If you aren't really into Subarus and you want a truck get it, dont wait. If you have the slightest itch for a subaru hang on to it, because once you get rid of it (or lose it) you will die a little inside lol

Thats exactly the problem though. I love Subaru for the AWD handling and snow abilities and gas millage. But I am kind of getting bored of the trying to take corners faster than everybody else. But a truck to me would be more practical in my mind; being able to tow the fishing boat without having to borrow a truck, not worrying about how I am going to get large items to and from school. I also like being able to go anywhere in the woods and not worrying about getting hung up anywhere. I wish there was something that had the best of both worlds, but that doesn't always happen. And no, I am not getting a Baja.

How big is the boat?
Subaru's can be used for towing, and the wagons have plenty of space in the back with the rear seats folded down.
What about a Forester? Or an H6 wagon. :)

The boat is a 16 foot aluminum Lund which I'm sure a Subaru could handle going short distances. But I usually end up towing it probably 35 miles one way to a lake that I love to fish at. I'm really more worried about the tranny. I had a 4-cylinder ranger I towed the boat with and by the time I got home at the end of the day I could smell tranny fluid burning. And about the wagon thing, not going to happen, I would feel kind of weird driving a wagon around. I already feel out of place in my hometown with a foreign car, and my girlfriend probably wouldn't ever ride with me if I had a wagon. She hates them more than I do. And I can't just put a bunch of dirty tools, parts or anything messy in the back without worrying about it staining anything.

My philosophy is it is just about impossible to satisfy all needs with one vehicle. So for my other car I went large.

I've used the Burb to haul drywall, rocks, furniture, TV's, etc. My next mod is a center jump console seat, because I need the 6+ people seating periodically. I'll be able to seat 9 once I get the jump seat in place.

Yeah, for my era burb, the option for 3 row in the front is a 60/40 split, with the center that folds down as a console.

I found a jump seat/console from a 2000+ rig that replaces the center storage. I really have no idea if it will fit, but I'm going to try. Unfortunately GM Truck/Burb forums don't have as many enthusiasts, so I really didn't know for sure if it will work or not.

I could try swapping the front seats entirely, but that would be expensive. The newer rigs, the front seats have the seat belt assembly built into the seat itself instead of coming from the pillar.

I don't want April to hit since I will be 3 years with out my two Subies (03 forester XS and 95 impreza L) I'm right now waiting for the IRS to deposit my money so I can go buy a outback be it a crappy 4EAt or a nice 5MT :D nevertheless I'd just be happy that I have the Subie back..

I will kinda miss the forester tho... had fun making two trips up to Canada and back got a little sideways hitting a patch of sand trying to miss a coffee can rolling in the street, it was like slow motion...

And last of all I can finally put these damn headlights and tail lights in that have been sitting in the house for over 6 friken MOTHS!!!

however I need to do a little splicing for the turn signal in the front for a retro fit.

I looked at a 2k2 recently, and have to confess that I've been looking at them for a little over 3 years. The only downside was that Bush was still in office and gas prices.... well... that's remains to be seen this season.

Well I toyed with this idea again. I'm torn between my stepmom's WK (2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee) and an '05+ LGT. Whatever I do, it won't happen until next spring.

We ordered the WK with every single option available to the Laredo Grand Cherokee; all black, leather, moon roof, navigation, rear view camera, back up sensors, DVD player, 4.7L V8, AWD...you name it, this thing has it. Her lease is up in April of next year and I thought about buying it after that, depending on the value, of course.

But I've also liked the '05+ LGTs since they came out. The thought of a 5MT, turbo, good looks, AWD, and decent gas mileage works for me. Plus some have navigation which isn't a necessity, but sure is nice.

I was trying to figure out the most economical choice. Obviously the Jeep doesn't get the greatest gas mileage, but it runs 87 unlike the 2.5GT. But the GT would get better mileage than the Jeep (presumably). Insurance would probably be pretty comparable but probably slightly in the favor of the GT.

As far as the mod bug goes...the GT seems to have a much better aftermarket than the WK right now, which is a blessing and a curse. I feel the GT would be cheaper to modify and would probably be more suited for me. But I still have a big place in my heart for Jeeps.

I've yet to drive a GT and I suppose that could be the final deciding factor between the two. I love everything about the WK but I need to be in a GT in person.

So, from now until next spring, I will be actively avoiding spending unnecessary money on the SUS. People keep asking me why I'm thinking about getting rid of the SUS and I don't really have a solid answer... :smt017

if you like the 05+ style but still want the ground clearance. i reccomend the 05 3.0r SUS, as much clearance as a ford explorer (new body style) 245hp, power curve of a n/a, can run 89 with no affect on mileage or preformance, can run 87 but suffers from some loss in torque. your really only paying roughly $2 more on a 91 fill up over a 87, small price to pay for preformance

Yeah the WK doesn't exactly have the offroad prowess of its siblings but it's all I'd need.

I'd love to keep the SUS as a dedicated winter ride and have a GT for the summer. I've thought about the ground clearance issue and that would mean I'd keep the GT at the stock ride height, despite how good they look when dropped.

I've seen the newer SUS (Outback sedans, whatever) around but they seem to be few and far between. I was unsure of the 3.0 motor, especially since they're AT's. Not that having an MT is a must but it would be nice. Maybe I'll look at those a bit harder since having an N/A would keep me out of trouble. :grin:

find one and test drive it, mine is pretty much everything i ever needed in the car except for manual tranny, very low maintenance, OK fuel economy, LOTS of creature comfortsnot offered in other subies. im absolutely happy with mine.

A WK Grand Cherokee with Quadra Drive II is only one of two cars that I'd buy over a Subaru. That is a really neat vehicle.

After reading up on the Outback 3.0R sedan, I see it comes fully loaded which is nice. Keeps me with the same, if not more, creature comforts I have now.

Hence my dilemma jey. It drives like a dream (totally different than my ZJ) and is an all around great vehicle. The Jeep seems to suit me better but dollar-wise it's a tough choice.
