I'm planning to get a HID conversion kit for my 05 Legacy GT, what is the best kit to get?

I'm kind of fond of Xentec HID kit. It has slim line ballasts which are easy to fit into the limited space of a GT's engine bay.

Gts come with projectors stock.......no glare
Halogen lamps regardless of projector or not are not designed for HID bulbs which produce almost five times the amount of lumens. You will still get glare.
Please don't encourage people to do this, this is dangerous to yourself and oncoming traffic. They may look the same, but the way they refract light is completely different due to the light intensity.

a lot of the glare that happens despite having projectors on HID conversions is that the chinese-made rebased HID bulbs take no consideration into maintaining the focal point of the halogen housing. What is the bulbs of the LGT's? If its H7 or H4 they do make adapter rings that let you use real HID DS2 bulbs in those housings. The additional benefit to using real DS2 bulbs is that they will last a lot longer and maintain their color longer than any rebased bulb.
Now this will help reduce some of the glare, and put more light into the areas that need it, but it won't completely eliminate it because the projectors are still designed for a halogen bulb...

It isn't dangerous to anyone warrior. For me personally, it provides more light at night so it makes things easier to see. When you have them pointed correctly, it shouldn't blind oncoming traffic either (not getting any flash flash from oncoming traffic so far). Though its true that halogen projectors are not the same as HID projectors, they are a whole lot better than having no projectors at all. Improved visibility of your car to other cars as well.
They are H7 ben.

Ben is on the right track, but the correct HID bulb for a halogen based housing isn't a D2S. It's a D2R.
The D2S bulbs are designed for HID projectors and have no factory masking on them to block light from straying away. These look like this:

The D2R bulb does have a black masking on the glass that help control light in a halogen housing, they look like this:

Now, SilentRacer, you've obviously convinced yourself that using HIDs in Halogen Projectors is perfectly acceptable. What I advise you to do is to go to a shop that has the DOT Light Aiming device and you'll see for yourself that your glare kit is illegal and blinding to on coming traffic.
The reason this is because the ellipsoidal reflector is short and doesn't house the entire length of the D2S bulb; thus allowing light to stray out and in every direction. This is the same for the Halogen based housings that everyone is doing their plug and play glare kit with.
I come to this site because it's very educational and a lot of the members follow rules of the road. It's sad to see that you're trying to convince me what your eyes see when I've done extensive research on this whole topic because I was once like you and wanted to take the easy route and put HIDs in my JDM projectors.. do it the right way, save up some money, buy some TSX projectors, a OEM ballast and you'll be so much more pleased at how far and bright the light output is. :smt023
Here's my retrofit picture.. you can see the tires on the black car lit up but very very minimal light is up past the windows... that's what a real retrofit does that's correctly aimed and legal.

Also as a moderator, I expect you to actually lead by example and not give false information.. especially to other members who aren't as educated.

That's your opinion, you can do all the research you want but in the end everyone will do whatever they want anyway. That includes myself. Since when have I ever encouraged whats legal? You got people out there driving around with no cats or loud exhausts. Are you going to go into the exhaust section and start educating people about not modifying that? The OP wants to know a good HID kit, not whether he should do it or not. I'm going to take pics just like u did and we can compare the glare.

I always felt moderators should lead the pack, like Huffer. Great moderator.
No thanks, I don't care to look at your glare kit pictures. I've seen enough of them.
The whole purpose of my post was to educate you on what's right and what's wrong, your opinion doesn't care and that's completely fine, but there's a lot of people out there that benefit from the truth because like I said in my earlier post, doing it the right way will improve your lighting so much more but if you like the mediocre glare kits then that's awesome! :smt023
If you ever change your mind and want to do a real retrofit, don't hesitate to ask me, I've been through it all and can help you skip all the irrelevant information.

I'd say before you get HIDs, do a retrofit with some bi-xenon HID projectors. Not only will they be glare-free, but you will get the added functionality of the high beams.

I'll go ahead and post mine anyway in case anyone wants to see if a retrofit mod is even worth doing on 05+ gt. As you can see the HIDs don't penetrate the window of the car in front at least. This topic should really be moved to electrical.

silent ur lights are so badly aimed it is ridiculous.
if you park along side a wall either left or right. the cutoff should angle downwards and hit the grown maybe 35ft out

yeah, haha
i just didnt know weather the retrofit was for more/wider light... i wasnt sure if it had anything to do with the cutoff...

The cutoff is the main reason why retrofits don't put out a lot of glare towards oncoming traffic.
