S401 exterior swap?

With a JDM STi motor in the works, I realize that I need icing on this cake I call Outback. I'm thinking S401 bumper, lights, grill, and maybe side skirts if they'll fit. But where can I get these? I'm looking in vain on the web.

Eh, the S401 front end is gonna be way after the ej20t swap, but yeah, I'll give them a look. I don't really even know if that's the way I want to go, since I haven't seen S401 parts on a wagon before. Any idea of what it would cost? If it's too much, then forget that. I'm already dumping in a lot in the motor.

Okay, found what I kind of want on japanparts.com. Grill is $433 USD, front bumper is $1,094 USD. Not bad, but not really worth it (at this point).

So would these parts be for before or after you lift it and put mud tires on it?

Damn, I think I forgot to talk about my plans here, too. I posted them up on subaruoutback.org, only, I guess.

Right now, priority #1 is JDM STi swap. After that, I'll see how my plans are. I'm afraid I'll get bitten by the boost bug and I won't be as interested in going (extreme) off road. I wouldn't lower it, but I might just find some struts/springs that'll allow me to keep stock ride height, while gaining a degree of corner carving capability. If I do decide to go not-lifted, then I'll get some JDM-inspired exterior bits. If I end up going with extreme off road, then I'll be making my fenders and tube bumper.

As it looks, I like the idea of not lifting and increasing its on road performance. Either way I go, I don't want to make it completely lose its off road ability. Anywho, that's how things stand right now.

If you wanted to go offroad you should look into the H6 instead. Better torque band, linear control over boost etc.

Yes, yes, it's been something I've been told before. I think I'm subconsciously separating myself from 'wheeling. :shock: I'm really interested in street components suddenly!
