I been thinking about the MSD conversion that some guys have done and it would seem like a good idea for my project, question is though, I am planning on getting Nology Hotwire plugs and wires and was curious to know if they would mate with the coil correctly? only asking because I am getting the impression that the stock plugs are not going to mate with it correctly, (unless im just blind and reading the threads wrong).

I'm running an MSD Coil using modified stock wires and plugs, If you want, you can come by and check out how i did it. PM me.

is your stock coil the male plug type (like the msd) or the female plug type?

uhmmmm, hold on, let me answer that with pictures. lol

the MSD i got looked like this and had wires that mated up like those seen here:

HOWEVER, I'm mad noob and couldn't get the plug end to get onto the spark plug end...SO, i took the stock wires that look like this:

https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2009/02/BEL700031-1.jpg

and I hacked the ends off of the MSD included plugs, the rubber bit that connects to the coil pack and slipped it onto the end of the the stock wire plugs so that I could get the spark end side to be easy to plug in the coil pack side to slide securely onto the MSD.

You really just have to check it out yourself, it works nicely. lol

so you had trouble with puting female type plugs on a male type coil? thats odd

if you're referring to me, the wires that came with my MSD were rubbery on the end that plugs into the spark plug, and I just couldnt get it to fit over. The stock wires had a plastic centering guide cover that made it a snap.

The problem you has with connecting on the spark plugs is because that red "rubber seal" that sit on the valve cover theres two different one. "Tear drop" and "oval" if it's not one, it's the other. I have to look it up to see what years it runs, I'm not sure off hand.

nah, not the valve cover seating, the ones that came with my MSD where just straight soft rubber tubes, nothing that sat against the valve covers.

I'm sure i coulda slipped it on the spark plugs and been good, but it took so long to center and push it on, i gave up.

but enough getting off topic! enough about my situation =D
