For the life of me I can't figure out why my temp gauge is reading at the 1/4 mark. I bled the system when I put my Crucial 160 t stat and it was fine for awhile. The coolant level is where it should be. I have to always fill it up since I think the water pump is leaking. I have coolant coming from the timing cover. Any ideas?

If you can not build up pressure, you will not build up heat. Your water pump is leaking, this is bad, especially if it has been leaking for a while. After leaking comes seizing, then you get a fery pissed timing belt and all sorts of unpleasnat things happening in the cylinders. Also replace your T-stat with one from OE as they flow more, and get a new radiator cap.

Not building up pressure will also lower your boiling point of the coolant, as pressure and antifreeze is what raises the boiling point. ALso depending upon what kind of coolant your mixing in, (repmix vs pure) you can be throwing off your 50/50 mix
