About a week ago I was driving on the highway with my cruise control set a 60mph. I turned it off when I hit the on ramp for the freeway. When I got back on, it would not work. I tried turning the dash button on and of and moving the cruise lever up and down a few times. I left it alone and about 30 minutes later it worked.

After working for about a week, it died on me again. What I've noticed is that when you push down the cruise control switch, a faint clicking sound can be heard. When my cruise works I can hear this clicking, and now I can't. I'm thinking that either its an electrical error, or there is a piece somewhere along the line that is broken.

Does anybody have any idea what this could be and/or had this happen to them before? I'm unsure as to what to do at this point.

Thanks in advance.

The clicking sound is the relay...so if you don't hear it then I'd suspect an electrical fault with the relay.

Try checking the switches, connections and reseating them... after 10 years things can work themselves loose.

Also, the cruise module is dependent on a working speed sensor - if that is acting up then cruise will not activate.
