Okay, so I've been seeing some speedrun videos on youtube. I know I'm about 3 days late to the party, if you will, but for how long have people been posting speedrun videos online (maybe even before youtube)?

I just saw a Half Life 1 speedrun done in about 36 minutes yesterday. What are really entertaining speedruns you've seen online?

A majority of the speedruns I have seen have been done on a PC with a hacked emulator or ROM, allowing the player to avoid taking damage. I have really yet to see a truthfully valid one (not that i have watched many to begin with).

I've seen plenty of legit speed runs. I'm more a fan of the 100% speed runs where people get EVERYTHING. One in particular was a 1 hour 100% Super Metroid run. My best time was just under 3 hours and it was not 100%.

In some ways, speed runs take me back to actually playing arcade games, when you had to make the most of your quarters.
