where would be a good place to get motor and trans mounts? i looked at autozone and they want like 200 for all 3... dont really want to pay that unless thats a good deal. also i thought that pretty much all 5-speed subbies had the same motor mounts, true? ok well thanks for the help

yes the motor mounts are the same on most years. 200 bucks for oem is alot. when you can get better for same or less. search around fro sti group-n mounts(have them on my 01 legacy) or cusco mounts. also think about getting the pitch beam mount. sti group-n on my family car is great. not to much more vibration or noise. i recomend the group-n if it a family car and not a racer. ebay, boxer4racing.com, and rallysportdirect.com . 1990-2009 legacy, impreza, wrx, sti all use the same mount.

Group N is good stuff, they're about the same cost as those Autozone pieces.

also has anyone used/ seen something along these lines?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Hardrace ... ccessories (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Hardrace-Motor-Mount-Kit-02-06-Subaru-WRX-Impreza-5-spd_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a1205Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318Q7c301Q3a1Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem270347266513QQitemZ270347266513QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories)

they are the same price as autozone but come with all 4 of the mounts..... i didnt think it would be this expensive.. but if ^ arent bad ill probably get them, they seem like the best deal ive seen
thanks

i dont know about those mounts. ive seen them, but i have never heard of anyone useing them. me i would go with sti group-n mounts. search for those on ebay for the group-n mounts. or go to boxer4racing.com and get them from there. the ppl at boxer4 are nice and good ppl. they will not send you a part that wont work on your car.

Those "Hardrace" mounts look like factory mounts with no additional reinforcement and a nice sticker on them.

i just need new ones cause mine suck. but dont want to spend to much on them, thats why i was thinking the "hardrace" ones would work they have all the mounts and seem pretty cheap... but ill look into the group n ones they would be nice but not sure if i want to spend the extra moneys on them. thanks for all the help though!

I replaced my worn mounts with Group-N motor, tranny and pitch mounts and noticed a huge difference. (For the brief time in which my engine was not trying to tell me knock knock jokes)

Prior to the replacement, my engine would visibly torque quite a bit upon starting it, as well as any sudden throttle increase. With the Group-N mounts, it has all but been eliminated. There is an increase in engine noise in the cabin, but it's a cool "wow, my engine sounds mean" sound, as opposed to a "I wish my engine would stop yelling at me" sound.

from what i have seen i think http://www.rallispec.com/prod_mount.htm has the best prices for mounts, tho i cant say anything good or bad about their company because i just dont know. i will be picking up some soon here in preparation for my H6 swap.

Group N is race proven, it's what all the Pro Rally America cars run on (ie Group N rally class, hence the name). The only stiffer mount that I know is of good quality are the Cusco ones, but honestly there's a thin line between controlling engine movement and constant BRRRRRRRRRRRvibration from engine noise in the cabin. If you're tight on cash just get some used ones from a wrx or any newer car, people usually just unload them for less than $50/pair on NASIOC or rs25...theyre still stock, but theyre at least better than shot mounts
